Investment Strategy

The investment strategy of the Fund is to invest in a highly diversified pool of high credit quality assets with an average duration of less than one year. This strategy envisages investment in securities issued by corporate bodies such as Term Finance Certificates (TFC’s) and commercial paper, clean placements in banks and non-banking finance companies, short-term securities issued by the Government of Pakistan, reverse-repo transactions in listed securities, and selective exposure in the CFS market. Exposure may also be taken as per relevant rules in off-shore investments and in derivative instruments provided that these investments provide attractive returns and minimize the risks of downside volatility in the fund’s performance.
